Real-Time and Historical System Data Enhances Clean Energy Generation, Management and Public Awareness

Loma Linda, CA - May 1, 2007 - Fat Spaniel Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of critical information services for distributed energy generation systems, today announced the launch of a remote monitoring system and a dynamic, Flash-based, lobby kiosk display for a new 267 kW solar energy system completed at the City of Loma Linda, California. The Fat Spaniel data monitoring and reporting solution transforms previously invisible raw energy data into information that enables improved system maintenance, energy management assessment, performance-based incentive payments under the California Solar Initiative program, and enhanced public awareness for the City's clean energy efforts. Fat Spaniel, Alpha Energy, and the city of Loma Linda will host a Powering Up Ceremony to celebrate the system launch at 3:00 PM today at the Loma Linda Civic Center.  

The Fat Spaniel solution for Loma Linda aggregates data from four independent solar energy systems located on top of buildings and carports owned by the City. Installed by Alpha Energy, the project's 1,600 solar panels will provide clean electricity to all Loma Linda municipal buildings including the fire station, city hall, library and senior center that host the new systems. Generating 430 MWh annually from the zero-emission solar system will deliver a reduction from comparable fossil fuel emissions equivalent to removing more than 3,300 cars from the road.

In addition to enhancing public education and awareness through a kiosk display featuring a live data view installed in the Loma Linda City Hall, Fat Spaniel's information services will facilitate efficient service and maintenance for the city-owned solar energy system through performance reports and real-time alerts. The revenue-grade reporting services will also allow Loma Linda to better manage its energy footprint by providing live and historical views of energy being generated, consumed and/or returned to the grid.
